Lover of all things K-Pop? Well, you might be intrigued by the prospect of a K-Pop-themed restaurant, named Nayana. As you’d expect of such an establishment, the decor is bright, bubbly, and fresh. That might not appeal to everyone, but it probably hits the spot when it comes to the younger crowd and K-Pop fans.

However, a restaurant’s aesthetic is only one aspect of the dining experience. A comfortable atmosphere achieves nothing if the food fails to deliver. And Nayana didn’t hit the spot for me with regards to its cuisine, unfortunately.
Even older folk, who might be deterred by the bright and colorful K-Pop trimmings, could still feel that this would be a decent place to chill if the food were any good. Granted, I only sampled one dish, but that was enough to ensure that I’m likely never coming back.
I kept it simple by ordering the Fried Chicken & Waffle and asking for a scoop of ice cream to be added alongside the waffle.

While the fried chicken was pretty decent, especially drizzled with the honey it was served with, the waffle was dense, to the point where it almost hurt to bite into. No joke, I barely managed to finish half of it as a result and it genuinely felt like I’d been chewing on folded cardboard. The ice cream was clearly the store-bought/factory-made stuff, but it was passable (cookies & cream is, fortunately, an almost impossible flavour to mess up). Alas, it couldn’t save the terrible waffle.
