Opened by the same folks behind Strangers’ Reunion, this cafe is probably most known for its ‘atas’ kaya toast, which has been much raved about and currently sells for an eyebrow-raising $10.90.
Despite all the positive buzz, I’m not that big a fan of kaya toast that I can justify shelling out ten bucks for it. Waffles, on the other hand, are a different story, and Curious Palette’s are pretty reasonably priced for what you get.

The Waffle: I’m not crazy about having plain fruit atop my waffles, so the trio of strawberries, blueberries, and banana slices as toppings put me off a little. But the waffle turned out to be very nice indeed. Despite being a little on the dry side due to the lack of sauce, Curious Palette’s buttermilk waffle was crispy, light and quite buttery—rather similar on the whole to Creamier’s (one of the gold standards for a good waffle for many people, including myself). 4/5
The Ice Cream: Made from real vanilla beans, this ice cream was light, refreshing and sweet without being cloyingly so. Nothing to really shout about, but it did its job of complementing the waffle. 3.5/5
