Craftsmen Specialty Coffee

The Buttermilk Waffle at Craftsmen was rather average. Good for people who like their waffles light and fluffy and slightly chewy. But as someone who prefers a crisp waffle with a solid bite to it, I thought this needed to be baked longer. It was also too dry, even with the sauce. 3/5

The Sea Salt Caramel ice cream was forgettable. It was salty, yes, but not strong enough on the caramel front to offset the brininess. Texture-wise it was a little hard, which tends to happen to ice cream that’s kept at temperatures that are too low. 3/5

The Salted Egg Yolk Fries here are very good, though they were perhaps too generous with the sauce and it got a tad overwhelming halfway in. This is probably best for sharing. Unless you have a high tolerance for salted egg and no regard for your cholesterol levels, you might end up feeling a tad ill like I did trying to finish it yourself. 4/5

The Cappuccino here was quite excellent. I had a single-origin brew from Honduras, I think. It was full-bodied, with a nutty aftertaste, and quite aromatic. Didn’t remember to snap a pic, but I wouldn’t mind coming back just for the coffee. They do live up to the ‘Specialty’ part of their name. 4/5
