Harvestry

Situated in the lobby of International Plaza, Harvestry always draws a good crowd on weekdays and is popular for its healthy, customisable grain bowls. The coffee is supposed to be pretty good, too. I can’t imagine anyone coming here for the waffles, though, which I innocuously decided to try and regretted instantly.

Dry and burnt, with a bitter metallic aftertaste that likely stemmed from too much baking soda being used in the batter, these were some of the worst waffles I’ve ever had. I like my waffle crispy, but these were definitely way overbaked. The measly scoop of vanilla ice cream—which looked and tasted like the cheap mass-produced stuff you can get anywhere—didn’t help matters.

At least the berries tasted fresh, but that alone wouldn’t make this worth the money or the carbs.
