The Lounge @ Raffles Town Club

Hungry for a pre-dinner snack, I happened by this promotional poster outside The Lounge at Raffles Town Club and was immediately lured (suckered) in.

This could, quite possibly, be the single worst waffle I’ve ever had the misfortune of eating (if only Nayana’s or Andersen’s Westgate waffle didn’t exist).

Thick, heavy and underbaked, The Lounge’s waffle had the texture of mushy bread, and I couldn’t bring myself to finish it. The ice cream might’ve been the saving grace; after all, good ice cream can turn even the driest and most flavourless of desserts into palatable (or at least tolerable) dishes.

No such luck.

The ice cream here tasted like standard-fare factory vanilla. That being said, I’m not sure even a freshly made artisan scoop of ice cream from Creamier or Merely could’ve saved a waffle this lousy.
