Whiskit Bakery & Cafe

Founded by a Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef, Whiskit is a bakery-cafe offering a sumptuous range of tarts, cakes and pastries. Waffles, as you might have guessed, are also available.

These Waffles are nice and quite similar to Creamier’s. You’ll like them if you like deep-pocketed Belgian waffles that have an equal balance of fluffiness and crispness. I think they could be even crispier, but then I usually always have that preference for waffles (what do you expect, when my favourite waffles are Revelry’s, baked to a crunchy finish?)

The Soft Serve Ice Cream is disappointing, though. It’s too soft and melts way too easily. I’ve made two trips here with a friend, and each time the ice cream looked like it was going the way of the Wicked Witch of the West when it had just barely been served. Hilariously, they seem to have given up trying to make the ice cream stay on the waffle and just dump it on the side of the plate now. A pity, because the rest of the dessert is actually pretty well plated.
