Located beside the ice-skating rink in JCube, Madlygood offers an extensive menu of sweet treats, from pancakes, crepes and ice cream, to milkshakes, gourmet teas and signature coffees, but waffles are clearly the speciality here.
The waffles themselves are quite the achievement, managing to somehow be dense, chewy, crispy and flavourful all at once.

The drinks didn’t leave quite the same impression. The Cappuccino was decent, but it could’ve been stronger and was a bit too milky for my tastes. The Matcha Latte was a big letdown, being far too sweet and not strong enough in the matcha department. I wouldn’t order it again.

The Matcha Gelato fared a little better than the latte. Served with strawberry slices and almond flakes, the matcha taste could’ve stood to be stronger, and was a bit too cloying for my liking (I tend to prefer matcha ice cream that’s more rich and bitter).

The other ice cream here is deliciously creamy, with the standout flavours for me being the Guilty Swirl (basically cookies and cream, with a cream cheese kick) and the Apple Tartlet (an apple pie-esque flavour with strong cinnamon notes). Paired with the buttermilk and chocolate waffles, these were quite a hit.

The ambience of the café is relaxing, offering a good view of the ice rink. But if I had to list one downside, it’s how pricey things are here compared to other cafes with similar offerings. A waffle on its own – without ice cream – can set you back between $12 to $15.
