If there’s one thing every HDB estate could benefit from, it’s a friendly neighbourhood cafe like this one serving up waffles and ice cream.
I had to wait awhile for the waffle to bake, so I got myself a coffee first.
Unfortunately, the White Coffee here was overly milky and diluted despite it being made with two shots of espresso. I wouldn’t have it again. 2.5/5

The Belgian Waffle seemed a little burnt but was thankfully baked just right. Fragrant and crispy on the outside, and moist on the inside, it reminded me of Chirashi-Ai’s waffle. 4/5
Cafe 134’s gelato includes flavours like Sicilian Pistachio and D24 Durian. Sadly the latter, which I really wanted to try, was sold out, so I went with the Tiramisu and Ferrero Rocher flavours.

The Tiramisu gelato was good but didn’t actually taste like tiramisu at all. In fact, it tasted more like rum & raisin, and I was wondering if they had mislabeled it. 3.5/5
The Ferrero Rocher gelato stole the show. In my experience, most ice cream billed as Ferrero Rocher tend to taste more like pure hazelnut ice cream, but Cafe 134’s rendition was exactly like the popular Italian confection transmuted into a rich gelato form. 4.5/5
Apart from the coffee, my main gripe with this place is that the acoustics aren’t good. It’s small and the ceiling is too low, so even with just a few people dining in it can get extremely noisy if everyone is talking at once. That’s a bit of a shame, because the cafe’s bright, clean, minimalist decor does give off a very welcoming and relaxing vibe.
